About Bhawani

Work Experience

Bhawani Dangal is a leader in the Deaf Bhutanese-American community. A Deaf American citizen, he arrived as a refugee from Bhutan in 2011. He works as a Nepali Sign Language to American Sign Language Deaf interpreter and refugee advocate and is a graduate of the prestigious Road to Deaf Interpreting program. He is a principal on the team at Camaraderie Solutions, providing mentoring and training in cultural and linguistic competence in Deaf services, including as an instructor of Deaf Refugee Education Classes. He was co-chair and keynote speaker at the first-ever World Deaf Refugee Day in 2021, and at another national Deaf refugee conference in 2022 and was on the planning committee for World Deaf Refugee Day 2023.
