The Global Bhutanese Organization (GBO) held its 3rd Annual Convention on September 2, 2023, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. This event brought together Bhutanese communities from around the world to connect, share, and support one another. Among the many notable contributors, Bhawani Dangal stood out as a presenter who inspired attendees with his insights and dedication to the Bhutanese diaspora. His role at the convention highlighted the power of community leadership and the importance of collective action.

The Global Bhutanese Organization and Its Mission

The Global Bhutanese Organization is a collective of Bhutanese communities living in nine countries: Australia, Canada, Denmark, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, the United Kingdom, and the United States. GBO was formed to provide timely assistance to Bhutanese people in need, prioritizing aid based on urgency. The organization serves as a vital link between Bhutanese communities worldwide, fostering unity and support.

The 2023 convention in Pittsburgh was a significant milestone for GBO. It was hosted by the Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh (BCAP), Himalayan Foundation-USA, Omkar Pariwar Pittsburgh, Kirat Rai Yayokha Pittsburgh, and S & K Education Center, with support from other local groups. This collaboration demonstrated the strength of Bhutanese organizations working together to uplift their community.
